Warm 1930's Kitchen Renovation

This delightful couple decided their 1930’s home needed a kitchen renovation.

Wanting something a little more warm and modern with space above the cabinets for their treasures, they opted to go with short maple cabinets in a honey stain.

Lots of surprises in this house!

During demolition we removed a pantry cabinet only to find a chimney behind it. Not part of our original design it was incorporated quite nicely into the look of the kitchen. After removing vinyl flooring we were excited to find original oak floors which were refinished and brought back to life.

The functionality of this space was improved by moving the refrigerator from the hallway into the kitchen. The range was also moved to the island allowing the wall between the dining room and kitchen to be opened up giving room for a breakfast bar.
